How do I reserve a car?

Once you've found a car you like, simply click 'Get Started.' Fill out your personal details. After you confirm your personal details, the car will be reserved for 24 hours for free.

What is a 14-day money back guarantee?

Buy with confidence with our 14-day money-back guarantee. Once you receive your car, you have 14 days to make sure it meets your expectations. If it doesn't, just let us know. We’ll take the car back and refund your money.

Can I test-drive a car?

Yes, but you can only test-drive our cars when you book an appointment at the store. Be sure to bring your driver's license as a test drive cannot take place without one.
If you buy the car online instead, after we deliver the car for free to you, we offer a 14-day money-back guarantee, allowing you to test-drive the car in your own time to make sure you like it.

Is the online price the same as the in-store price?

Condition

What condition is this car in?

All of our cars are accident-free and have been checked against being declared stolen, exported, scrapped or written-off. Our cars all go through an extensive 228-point inspection by our independent third-party to determine all unacceptable damage, but some wear and tear is expected with any car between 1 to 5 years old.
Normal wear and tear may include minor scratches, scuffing or stone chips - not affecting the overall appearance of the car, or requiring the whole panel to be painted, and are under 6cm in size.

14-day money back guarantee

Buy with confidence with our 14-day money-back guarantee. Once you receive your car, you have 14 days to make sure it meets your expectations. You can always call our UK Customer Experience team if you want to have a chat about your car during that period. If you feel the car is not right for you, just contact us within the 14 days and we will provide full reimbursement, provided there is no more than 100 miles difference from the mileage at which the car was delivered.

Do you offer service history?

All of our cars include service history, but due to technical limitations we cannot currently show the service history for each car online.
For cars with a traditional service book, we store this in our database but we cannot display them on our website automatically, which is why you don’t see service history on this specific car.
Some brands have service history recorded through the on-board computer and a photo is taken of the screen and is also available in our database. For others it is only available online and we take a print out and store it in our database.

How many times can I claim in my free 12-month warranty period?

You can claim an unlimited amount of times up to the total value of the car.

Do you offer an extended warranty?

All of our cars come with a 12-month warranty at no additional charge. You can extend this warranty to 24 months for an additional £499 or 36 months cover for an additional £799.

How long is left on the MOT?

Every car has at least 5 months MOT before you buy, but a minimum of 9 months when CarNext.com inspects them.

What is the maximum mileage?

The maximum mileage that our cars come with is 80,000 miles.

Buying online

What does buying online entail?

All cars on CarNext.com marked ‘Online Exclusive’ are available to buy online. We offer a 12-month free warranty, free home delivery and a 14-day money-back guarantee on all online cars to ensure your satisfaction. For more on how it works, please have a look at Buying Online.

Are there any additional costs involved when I buy my car online?

No additional costs are involved in buying a car online. We also offer free UK wide delivery.

Can I see a car before buying it online?

We want to make the purchase process fast and convenient so that you don't have to visit the store if you don't want to. With our home delivery experience and 14-day money-back guarantee, you have all the time to test the car in real life and you can return the car within 14 days if you are not satisfied. This is subject to mileage restrictions of 100 miles. Alternatively, you can book an appointment with our Milton Keynes store if you would prefer.

What does free home delivery mean?

Free Home Delivery means that we deliver the car to your doorstep. Your car will be delivered to an address of your choice as long as it's UK Mainland. Our delivery agent will guide you through the hand-over process and help you inspect the car to make sure that you feel comfortable with the operation of all the controls and can start driving right away.

How do I make a payment?

We provide our bank account details to you where you can directly transfer the funds. The full payment must occur within 7 days after reserving the car, after which we will arrange delivery right to your doorstep.

Can I test-drive your cars?

You aren't able to test-drive our cars when you buy online, but with our 14-day money back guarantee, you are able to return your car within 14 days of delivery. If you don’t like it for any reason, just let us know and we’ll pick it up it for free.

Will I be insured during the test-drive period?

After the delivery, the car is yours. It is your responsibility to make sure the car is insured before you start driving it.

How do I reserve this car?

What payment methods are accepted?

We currently only accept bank transfers to pay for your car. Just follow the on-screen instructions after you select 'Get Started'.

Can I buy more than 1 car per purchase?

Yes, you can. Prices will not change and one purchase order will be made per car.

Financing

Why is the offer I received different from what I worked out with the calculator?

The quote you worked out with the calculator is an indication. It is not a finance offer. The rate on the day you apply is the one that matters.

Do you do a soft or hard credit check?

When you apply for finance a lender will run a hard credit check on your credit profile. Too many hard credit checks over a short period can affect your credit score for six months, which may affect your potential to get approved for credit.

I want a different loan amount, can I change it?

Yes you can, just go through the application form one more time.

How long does the loan application take?

It takes a couple of minutes to apply. However, the length of the verification process depends on our financial partners.

Do I have to provide additional documents to prove my eligibility for the loan application?

Our trusted financial partners may ask for additional information so they can provide the best finance deal for you.

Can I trade-in my car and use the proceeds as a down payment?

Yes, we offer part exchange which you can use as payment towards your new CarNext.com car. Please note that we only offer this service when you buy from our store.

Is it cheaper to buy a car with cash or finance the purchase?

Buying a car outright is usually cheaper, although financing a car allows you to spread the cost over a longer period.

Does CarNext.com provide the loan?

No. Our trusted financial partners offer and provide the loans.

Once my loan is approved, do I receive the money?

Yes. You can use that money to buy a CarNext.com car.

Is there a minimum amount that I can borrow?

Yes, the minimum amount you can currently borrow is £3,000.

Delivery

Do I need to do anything before delivery?

You will be required to tax and insure the car before it is legal to drive.

How much will the car delivery cost?

All home delivery services to Mainland UK are free of charge when buying online

When can you deliver my car?

We deliver within 3-5 working days, depending on how soon you supply us with all necessary papers and we will update you during your order process to ensure we get the car to you as fast as possible.

Will you deliver my car to Scotland?

Yes, we will deliver your car to Scotland or anywhere else in mainland UK.

Can you deliver my car to my workplace?

We can deliver the car to you anywhere in mainland UK. You can pre-arrange this with our booking partner when they call you to arrange the appointment. This only applies to the registered keeper of the car.

Do you deliver cars in continental Europe, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight...?

At the moment, we are currently not in a position to supply anywhere off the British mainland. CarNext.com currently exists in 23 countries across Europe so you may find a car closer to you!

My postcode isn't accepted when choosing it for delivery? What do I do?

Can I amend my delivery and collection day after I have placed my order?

Yes, please get in touch with our customer service team on 03455280550 and they will be happy to help. CarNext.com requires 1 full working day prior to the delivery date to cancel.

What happens on delivery day?

When our delivery driver arrives, they will show you around the car and answer any questions you may have. All you need to do is show proof of your identification and sign to say you accept.

What happens if I’m not happy with the car on delivery?

You have 14 days to change your mind if you want to. If you would like to return your car, just let us know and we will pick it up from you. We provide full reimbursement in this case, provided there is no more than 100 miles difference from the mileage at which the car was delivered.

Do I need to pay before the car is delivered?

Yes, you must have fully paid for your car before we can organise delivery.

How much fuel will be in my car?

Every car comes with at least a quarter tank of fuel.

Part exchange

What is part exchange?

Part exchange is when you sell your current car to help you pay for its replacement.

How is the valuation done?

Each car's value is calculated based on several factors. Everything from mileage to cosmetic damage will play a role in determining the price.

How much does the car evaluation cost?

Our valuation is completely free! We just give you a fair price, no strings attached.

Can I part exchange my car in the Milton Keynes showroom?

Yes, you can part exchange your car at our Milton Keynes store. One of our sales advisors will test drive and inspect your current car before giving you a valuation which you can use to buy a CarNext.com car online or in-store.

How long is the quoted value of my part exchange valid for?

The quote we give you is valid for 7 days.

Is it possible to just sell my car without buying one from CarNext.com?

At this moment, we only accept cars as part exchange, and not for outright sale.

Is the part exchange value of my car guaranteed?

Yes! If your car is as-described when we collect it, that's the value you'll get off your new car.

When will my part exchange be collected?

Your part exchanged car will be collected when we deliver your new car, you don't have to do anything!

Can I negotiate the part exchange price at the time of delivery?

You don't need to! We'll already give you a fair price online.

What cars do you not accept?

There are a few things we look out for when deciding whether to accept a car or not. Take a look:

  • Mechanical - We won't accept cars that have noticeable problems with either clutch, gearbox, suspension, transmission or braking.
  • Electrical - All electrical elements of the car must function and all bulbs should work as expected, without any problems.
  • Engine - The car must have no major engine problems and start easily, run smoothly with no excessive noise, vibration or smoking. Also, the car should have no warning lights or service indicators illuminated.
  • Tyres - The tyres on the car should satisfy the minimum legal requirement for tread depth and have no damage to the rubber.

How will I be paid for the part exchange?

The value of your part exchange car will be deducted from the cost of your new car.

After sales

I have a problem with my car, what should I do?

We take pride in the quality of our cars and offer a 12-month warranty included in the price as a sign of this. In the unlikely event that you do have a problem with your car, you must report it to us and give us an opportunity to fulfil our obligation to you and put it right. Please do not book your car into a non-approved garage without speaking to a member of our team first.

What does my warranty cover?

Before leaving our showroom, all cars undergo a 228-point inspection and have a 12-month warranty. This warranty includes:
✓ Protection against electric or mechanical failure of:
● Engine
● Transmission
● Tyre pressure
● Electronics
● Brake and fuel system
✗ NOT included: glass, bodywork, tyres, rims and upholstery or issues resulting from driver negligence
✓ Electrical and mechanical car parts which are due for replacement
✓ Diagnostic expenses and labour expenses
✓ Transport expenses
✓ Reimbursement of expenses for repairs which have taken place abroad

I want to return my car.

Once we’ve delivered the car, you have 14 days to test it out and make sure it’s right for you. If it isn’t, just let us know. We’ll take it back and refund your money. As you might expect, there are a few terms and conditions to this guarantee, particularly around mileage and the condition of the car when you return it. We’ll explain them all when you buy the car or you can find them here.

When will I receive my V5 document?

This is something that we don't have control of. The DVLA will arrange for the new V5 document to be sent in your name to your home address and can take up to 12 weeks. You will receive your V5C code when you purchase a car so you can tax it.
